Shopmonkey Alternative for Aftermarket Shops

Shopmonkey is good software, and it covers more kinds of shop than anyone else in the category. If you hit its edges, it is almost always for one reason: your counter sells builds, and Shopmonkey prices repair.

What Shopmonkey is genuinely good at

Shopmonkey's own H1 calls it "the all-in-one shop management software," and the breadth is real — they publish dedicated pages for auto repair, tire, quick lube, heavy duty, wrap and detail, marine, powersports, performance, restoration and RV, and multi-shop operators. Of the five biggest general-repair platforms, it is the only one that includes two-way customer texting at its entry tier rather than gating it behind an upper plan. If you run general repair, or you run several locations and want one vendor across all of them, that breadth is a legitimate reason to buy it.

Where an aftermarket shop hits the edges

The pricing primitive is a labor guide. Shopmonkey, like every platform in that group, is built on book hours plus parts markup. A lift shop doesn't sell book hours — it sells a 6-inch kit on 37s as one number, installed. You can make a labor-guide system produce that number, but you do it by hand on every estimate, and the number you quoted is not a thing the software understands.

There is no menu-package concept to lean on. We checked their closest vertical page — /performance — and it contains no mention of lift kits, wheels and tires, truck accessories, 4x4, off-road, restyling, or package pricing, and it reuses the homepage testimonials. That's not a dig at Shopmonkey; it's evidence that the page exists to rank and the product underneath wasn't built for this trade.

Seats cost money. Shopmonkey charges per seat, with additional users published at +$20/month. For a shop where the owner, two advisors, and four techs all need to be in the system, that is a real number on top of the plan price, and it grows every time you hire.

Everything stated above about Shopmonkey comes from their own published pricing and product pages as of October 2026, and nothing here is a claim about how well their software works — by all accounts it works well for the shops it was built for. Prices and tiers change. If we have something wrong, email sales@upfitos.com and we'll correct it.

A demo is a working walkthrough, not a slide deck — your packages, your parts, your counter. Thirty minutes, and you'll know whether it fits the way your shop sells. You'll talk to the person who writes the software.
