Tekmetric Alternative for Aftermarket Shops
Tekmetric is the most focused product in general repair, and it is excellent at being that. The place an aftermarket shop runs into it is the price of the feature it came shopping for.
Start with the texting gate, because it's the whole story
Tekmetric's published plans start at $199/mo, step to $349, and top out at $439 for Scale. Two-way customer texting lives on that $439 tier. So the honest comparison for a shop that wants to text customers is not $199 versus our $300 — it's $439 versus $300, and the $439 still doesn't price a build as a package.
This is the complaint you see from owners in the trade groups, and it isn't only about Tekmetric: per owner reports in a public service-truck group this summer, a shop signing up found that buying the pieces that add up to a complete suite put them north of $500/month. We publish one number because that arithmetic is the most common reason a shop owner gives up on shopping at all.
Credit where it's due
Tekmetric does several things better than most of the category, and two of them better than us. Users are unlimited on every tier — same as ours, and worth saying so. They publish a self-guided product tour you can walk without talking to anyone, which is the lowest-friction way to evaluate software in this market and something we don't offer yet. They claim 16,000-plus shops; we're a young product running in production in real shops today, and if the size of the vendor is your main risk question, they win it outright.
Where an aftermarket shop hits the edges
It is deliberately general repair only. Tekmetric markets no specialty verticals at all — no 4x4, off-road, lift, wheel-and-tire, tint, or accessory content anywhere. That's a strategy, not an oversight, and it means the estimating flow assumes a labor guide and a diagnosis, not a menu and a build sheet.
Tires are a paid module. Their Tire Suite is an add-on at +$39/month. If wheel-and-tire work is a third of your ticket volume, that is another line item on an already-tiered bill.
Declined work isn't a pipeline. The thing an accessory shop loses money on is the customer who said "not this month" to the winch bumper. We treat a declined line as a tracked signal that schedules its own follow-up; a repair-shop workflow treats it as a line you didn't sell.
The side-by-side
Everything stated above about Tekmetric comes from their own published pricing and product pages as of October 2026, and nothing here is a claim about how well their software works — by all accounts it works well for the shops it was built for. Prices and tiers change. If we have something wrong, email sales@upfitos.com and we'll correct it.

See it on your own work orders
A demo is a working walkthrough, not a slide deck — your packages, your parts, your counter. Thirty minutes, and you'll know whether it fits the way your shop sells. You'll talk to the person who writes the software.
