Truck accessory shop software

An accessory shop's day is not four big jobs. It's a bed cover at nine, steps and mud flaps at ten-thirty, a hitch with a brake controller at one, and a walk-in who wants to know what a spray liner costs. The software has to keep up with the counter, not the labor guide.

Multi-SKU installs are the normal case, not the exception

A truck that comes in for "a few things" leaves with five SKUs on one ticket: the folding cover, the running boards, the bed mat, the flaps, and a set of lights. Each one is a different brand, a different install time, and a different margin. In UpfitOS each is an installed-price package off your menu, so the advisor builds that ticket by picking five items and the quote is right — including the labor — before the customer has finished deciding.

The ones that bundle, bundle. Hitch plus wiring harness plus brake controller is one sellable thing with one price, not three lines an advisor might forget the third of.

Fitment is the thing that costs you money

Accessory work is fitment work: cab configuration, bed length, whether the truck has the tailgate step, which year the body style changed. A wrong-fit cover is a restock fee and a very annoyed Saturday. UpfitOS keeps the vehicle on the customer record, with the year, make, and model decoded from the VIN rather than typed from memory, and the cab and bed configuration recorded on the vehicle once so the next visit doesn't start the guessing over. The package you quoted stays attached to that truck.

When the part isn't on your shelf, the search inside the work order hits Turn 14 Distribution live: 800,000+ parts across 450+ brands, with your dealer cost, MAP, and warehouse availability. You find out it ships tomorrow while the customer is still standing there, not after you've promised Thursday. Your own SkuLabs shelf levels show on the same line, so the counter can tell what's in the back without walking to the back.

Quick turn, and quick money

Accessory tickets are short, which means the overhead per ticket has to be near zero. Build the work order from the menu, clock the tech in against it from a phone in the bay, take the photos, close it, push the invoice to QuickBooks Online cent-exact. The parts of this that other software makes you do twice — retyping the price, re-entering the customer, reconciling the invoice — are the parts that make shops stop using software and go back to a pegboard.

The accessory business is a repeat business

Nobody buys everything at once. They buy the cover now, think about the leveling kit, and come back for the lights. That's why the declined line matters more in this trade than in any other: when a customer passes on the toolbox, UpfitOS keeps that package on their record and sends the follow-up on its own, from your shop's number, in the same thread as every text they've already sent you. The work you quoted and lost becomes next month's ticket instead of a story about the one that got away.

Where we're not the right answer

If you sell accessories wholesale to car dealers and need them ordering from a portal that opens work orders on your board, that's a real model and we don't serve it today — tell us if that's you, because it's on the list. And if accessory work rides alongside a general-repair bay doing diagnostics by the book hour, we don't do labor-guide estimating at all; see how we compare.
