Tint and wrap shop software
If tint, PPF, and wrap are all you do, there are tint-native tools that will fit you better than we will, and we'll name them below. UpfitOS is for the shop where tint is one of several things on the menu — film in one bay, a stereo install in the next, a leveling kit out back.
Priced per vehicle, off a menu
Film work is already menu-priced and has been forever: two fronts, a full sedan, a full SUV, a windshield strip, ceramic versus dyed, a front-end PPF kit, a full wrap. Those are installed-price packages in the most literal sense — a price on the wall and a known bay time. UpfitOS treats them as first-class records: the price your shop sells at, the film the job consumes, and the hours it takes, so the quote at the counter is instant and the job board knows how long the bay is gone.
What's on the ticket matters later. The brand, the series, and the VLT go on the work-order line, so three years on, when a customer calls about a warranty claim on a car you barely remember, the vehicle record tells you exactly what went on it and who installed it.
Five to eight cars a day, and the ones that don't show
Tint throughput is a scheduling problem more than a pricing one. The drag-and-drop job board and the per-tech calendar are built for a day with a lot of short jobs in it, and each installer opens a My Day view on a phone and clocks in against the car they're on. Appointment reminders and confirmations go out as texts from your shop's number, which is the cheapest no-show reduction available to a shop that lives on a full schedule.
Working out of the vehicle at a dealer lot or a customer's driveway works the same way — the whole app is a responsive web app, so a phone in the field is the same work order as the one at the counter. We don't have route planning or a mobile-dispatch board; if mobile is the core of your business rather than an occasional job, that's a gap worth knowing about now.
Multi-day wrap and PPF work
A full wrap or a full-body PPF job is a three-to-five-day build that owns a bay, and it behaves much more like a lift build than like a two-front tint. Multi-day jobs sit on the board as multi-day jobs, tech time clocks against them across days, and the hours land next to the estimate so you learn what a wrap really costs you to install rather than what you hoped.
Photo documentation is the other half. Camera-capture photos go straight from the bay onto the work order — the rock chips and the clearcoat defects that were there before the film went on, the prep, the finished panels. Stored with the job, not on somebody's phone.
Film inventory: the honest version
Your SkuLabs stock shows on the work-order line, so the rolls and PPF kits you keep as SKUs are visible at the counter. What we do not do today is consume film by the square foot off a roll — a roll is a unit, not an area, as far as UpfitOS is concerned. If square-foot yield per roll is a number you manage the business on, that's a real limitation and you should weigh it before switching. Tell us if it matters; it's the kind of thing we'd build.
Where the tint-native tools win
Tint Wiz and Urable were built for film and detail shops and, per owner reports in the trade groups, are well liked by shops that do only that work. If tint and PPF are effectively 100% of your revenue, start with them — they'll have film-specific workflow we don't. OrbisX sits in the same lane. Where UpfitOS wins is the shop that outgrew a single-trade tool: tint plus audio plus accessories plus lift work, one customer record, one inbox, one invoice, and live parts pricing for the half of your business that isn't film.
Also on the menu: truck accessories, wheel & tire, 4x4 & lift.
